Consular Officer Travel to New Caledonia

A Consular Officer from the U.S. Embassy in Suva will be in Noumea, New Caledonia at the end of February 2020 to take applications for reports of birth, passports, and to notarize documents that will be used in the United States.

Please note that the Consular Officer will not accept petitions for immigrant visas nor will the officer be available to discuss nonimmigrant visa applications. All visa inquiries should be directed to the U.S. Embassy in Suva at SuvaNIV@state.gov (for Non-immigrant visa questions) or SuvaIV@state.gov (for Immigrant visa questions).

To request an appointment, please send an email to SuvaACS@state.gov. You must include the full name and date of birth of the applicant and indicate the type of service needed. Interviews will be held in Noumea. You will be notified by email of the time and location of your interview appointment.

For information about what supporting documents are required for applications for passports and reports of birth, please refer to our website at https://fj.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/birth/. In addition to the original documents, photo IDs, and passports, you will need to bring photocopies of ALL original documents, with certified English translations.

You must be prepared with a certified bank check in the exact amount in U.S Dollars of the applicable fee made payable to the U.S. Embassy, Suva. For security reasons, cash is not accepted. When you schedule your appointment for a specific consular service, we will inform you of the correct fee amount.

Failure to provide the required documents or payment at the time of the appointment may result in cancellation of your appointment with the Consular Officer.

Because of the limited time available, the officer will meet only with those who have made appointments in advance. Walk-in appointments will not be accepted.
