A consular officer can provide a full range of notarial services, such as taking acknowledgments, oath, affirmations, affidavits, and attestations. Notary functions performed by consular officers do not differ much from those performed by a notary public in the U.S. The requirements are the same: the person must appear, establish his/her identity, show that he/she is not acting under duress, and that he/she understands the nature, language, and consequences of the documents.
Notary services are by appointment only.
The appointment schedule for American Citizens are as follows: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and 2:00 am-2:30 pm, Friday from 9:00 am-12:00 pm.
