United States Embassy Travel to Nuku’alofa, September 20 to 27, 2022

The United States Embassy in Suva, Fiji, will offer consular services to U.S. citizens in Tonga from September 20 to 27, 2022.

American Citizen Services:

We will accept applications for American Citizens Services, including reports of birth abroad and U.S. passport applications, as well as provide notary services for documents for use in the United States.

Applicants should not make irrevocable travel arrangements until they have received their new/valid passports from U.S. Embassy in Suva, Fiji. The Embassy cannot guarantee that passports will be available at a certain date.

Please notice the usual estimated processing times below:

Emergency Limited Passports: 2-3 weeks

Regular Passports: 4-6 weeks

Consular Report of Birth Abroad: 5-7 weeks

These processing times assume that the submitted applications are complete, clearly approvable and that the applicant has arranged in advance of the interview the return shipment with a courier company such as FedEx or DHL.

Appointments for American Citizen Services will be available in:

Nuku’alofa on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Monday, September 21-23, and 26, 2022.

Please note that we can only see applicants who have scheduled an appointment. We cannot accept walk-in applications.

To schedule an appointment please send an e-mail to SuvaACS@state.gov. Attendance at interviews will be limited to applicants and minors’ parents only.

Please note we only have a limited number of appointments available. Once we confirm your appointment, we will also inform you which documents you need to bring with you and advise you of the fees you will need to pay and the payment options. For security reasons, cash will not be accepted.
