Tropical Depression TD03F approaching Fiji

Location: Fiji 

Event: The Fiji Meteorological Service advises that Tropical Depression TD03F is approaching Fiji. The storm, which may become a cyclone, will bring strong winds and heavy rain to affected areas.

 Tropical Cyclone Alert is in force for:

  • Yasawa and Mamanuca Group
  • Northern and western parts of Viti Levu
  • Western interior parts of Viti Levu
  • Kadavu
  • Western and northwestern parts of Vanua Levu.

Strong Wind Warning is in force for land areas of:

  • Northern Division
  • Western and northern parts of Viti Levu
  • Western and interior parts of Viti Levu
  • Yasawa and Mamanuca Group
  • Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

For Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, northern and western parts of Viti Levu, western and interior parts of Viti Levu, Kadavu, western and northwestern parts of Vanua Levu, expect strong winds increasing to damaging gale force winds from later tomorrow, Sunday.

For the rest of the Fiji Group, expect strong winds from tomorrow.

Actions to take:

  • Monitor local media and weather forecasts. Be aware that forecast storm paths can change.
  • Follow directions of local officials.
  • Do not walk or drive across flooded areas.
